A Little About Walter - And How Gringo Taxis Got Started

Gringo Taxis was started in February 2016 almost a year after my arrival in Lima Peru.

I had been watching the news, reading the newspapers, and observing the expatriate community, all of whom were, quite literally, nonstop in discussing how tourists were being robbed by their airport taxi drivers or being assaulted and robbed en route to their hotel or at the drop-off point.

I couldn’t take seeing all that, and knowing I could do something about it. I decided to put my 20+ years as a commercial driver to work, and Gringo Taxis was born.
