Can Expats and Travelers Use MigraCheck at Lima Airport?
If you live in Peru, you may have heard about MigraCheck, the immigration preregistration system that allows eligible passengers to use the automated immigration gates (e-gates) at Jorge Chávez International Airport.
Peruvian citizens and foreign residents with a valid Carné de Extranjería can use the system, provided they meet the age, passport and other requirements. Foreign tourists have also been permitted to use the automated gates when departing Peru under specific conditions, but this does not generally apply to their arrival in Lima.
For the latest eligibility requirements, visit the official MigraCheck website, as these rules are administered by Peru’s immigration authority.
What does this mean for your airport taxi pickup?
Whether you use MigraCheck or go through the regular immigration queue, you don’t need to worry about your Gringo Taxis driver leaving while you’re completing the arrival process.
Our airport pickups include 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time from your flight’s landing time, and we monitor your flight so your pickup can be coordinated around your arrival.
We handle the transportation. Migraciones handles immigration. You can take care of getting into Peru while we take care of getting you to your destination.
